The musicians of the Avey Grouws Band met by chance at a blues jam session at the Quad Cities along the Mississippi river on the Iowa side. They immediately decided to form a band and, in 2020, they recorded their first album entitled “The Devil May Care” that reached number 24 on the Billboard blues charts. During the same year they were also nominated for Blues Music Awards for Debut Album New Artist. In 2021 they have also received four nominations at the Independent Blues Awards. This second recording has been produced by Grammy winner Casey Wasner, and presents ten original compositions that move along blues, folk, Americana and the most powerful rock. According to singer Jeni Grouws’ own words, their music tries to communicate what they have learned from the great masters of the styles they are deeply attracted and influenced by to let people experience the same passion and devotion they feel when they write and perform their own material. The band members are Jeni Grouws on vocals, Chris Avey on guitars and backing vocals, Randy Leasman on bass, Bryan West on drums and Nick Vasquez on keyboards.
