If there are still real musicians who play for old-style cowboys, undoubtedly Arty Hill is one of them. He is a charismatic singer and guitarist of the genuine orthodox honky-tonk style. Arty has hardened himself playing on thousand clubs and bars for all kinds of audiences and his weekend dance music has not been unnoticed in this album with twelve compositions of most pure classic country and western music, with Johnny Cash’ and all Nashville sound influences. Arty Hill is backed by the instruments used in this lovely music, from pedal steel guitar to fiddle, acoustic guitars and double bass. A honest, danceable and engaging album, that reminds us the old romanticism and nostalgia of some wonderful America last century times, a glorious age that unfortunately will not come back, years where everything was an idyllic familiar dream, full of often unreachable hopes, good wishes and expectations.
