After seventeen years without releasing an album, singer Angela Strehli now publishes a new recording with twelve amazing songs, she has produced together with her husband Bob Brown.

For five decades Angela has been one of the fundamental mainstays of Texas blues scene. Not in vain she was co-founder of legendary Austin club Antone’s, together with the late Clifford Antone. In this club Angela used to perform regularly, where she usually shared stage and became good friend of such legendary artists like Muddy Waters, Albert King, B.B. King, Otis Rush, Albert Collins, Jimmy Reed, Johnny Winter… and more.

With this album Angela Strehli wants to pay tribute to some of the many artists who inspired her in her younger years. The cd is full of photographs where you will see Angela with many of the just mentioned artists, and includes versions of songs that became popular performed by Elmore James, Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf or Otis Clay among others. Angela includes a small comment of each selected artist, that come from the many memories she keeps of her friendship with those blues monsters.

Despite her young age (76), Strehli still keeps all her usual power, coolness, punch, sensuality, feeling and energy, not only in her voice but also in the way she develops each song, she communicates with a natural display and a really remarkable knowledge.

I feel really happy to welcome back this fantastic singer to the recording world, with an album that will enable listeners to enjoy the comeback of an impressive artist who, as usual, shines at a very high level. I am sure this cd will not disappoint any Afroamerican music lover and, for sure, it deserves an outstanding place in any record collection.
