As so many other kids, the first blues Andy Talamantez heard in the 60’s and 70’s when he was only a teenager, were British blues bands and, of course, the one who won his heart over other guitarists, was Eric Clapton Since then on, Andy was graudally discovering other bluesmen like Muddy Waters, Otis Rush, Magic Sam, BB King, T-Bone Walker and Albert Collins Andy T deeply assimilated the sound, technique, riffs and all these artists tricks On the other hand James ‘Nick’ Nixon came from Nashville and he began his music career singing in the choir of the local church he used to go with his parents When he was a high school student he made his first steps in the opera field, but he left it to become a member of the rock ‘n’ roll group, King James And The Sceptres After playing in different bands and even recording for Chess label, Nick began to work as a music teacher in the Nashville’s Parks and Recreation Department, a job he has been doing for the last thirty-five years This made him win the prestigious Blues Foundation ‘Keeping The Blues Alive’ Award, in the Education category This album is extremely intense, vital and genuine More than 15 musicians have contributed, especially guitar player Anson Funderburgh, who has also produced the album This is a real full presentation of the most genuine knowledge of blues music First class blues played with joy, commitment and amazing desire
