Andrew Alli is a talented young blues singer and harmonica player who follows the path of legendary names like James Cotton, Carey Bell, Walter Horton, Sonny Boy Williamson, Junior Wells or Little Walter Born in Richmond, Virginia, he began his musical career when he was in his twenties, after he by chance listened to a street musician who was playing harmonica From that moment Andrew began to discover and ooze all these great blues harmonica players, developing his own style that has ended on a very boomy and totally personal sound For years Andrew Alli has led his own band, Andrew Alli And The Mainline, with Ivan Appelrouth on guitar, Ken Kellner on bass and Chaz Hibbler on drums This album is entirely devoted to Chicago South Side blues, where Andrew has included twelve songs, nine own compositions and three covers coming from Walter Horton, Harmonica Smith and Little Walter To round out the recording Andrew Alli is surrounded by a good cast of musicians who know the blues like the palm of their hands, with Jon Atkinson on guitar and bass, Danny Michel on guitar, Carl Sonny Leyland on piano and drummers Devin Neel and Buddy Honeycutt A hundred percent blues recording that will delight all those harmonica passionate followers but also most classic twelve-bar blues lovers
