Another interesting album of Americana and folk music is the one singer and songwriter Amy Helm now gives us She is daughter of legendary The Band singer and drummer, Levon Helm In fact the album marked the end of her father’s recording sessions, as he could only participate in two of the twelve songs included Didn’t It Rain is a well conceived record, where Amy shows her sweet honey well pitched voice together with a complete commitment and delivery The musicians who back her work with great empathy, thankfulness and admiration The result is a folk-rock album for a wide majority of musical tastes Basically all songs are performed with acoustic instruments and beautiful vocal harmonies and these are precisely the weapons and resources Amy and her musicians use to make the recording likeable and successful among wide audiences Let me say it again, Didn’t It Rain is a cd that, despite it does not include much blues, appears as a very interesting one, built up around a poetic bucolic display and a strong vocal path that will fully captivate listeners
