In her sixth album, singer, guitar player and songwriter Ally Venable shows herself more combative than ever, demanding for female blues rock artists their right place in a style that until now was mainly exclusive of men. But, besides a celebration of women’s equality, the album also becomes a good example of the personality, energy and character Ally gives to her songs.

Coming from Texas, she started singing in church and, when she was twelve years old, she had her first guitar on hands. At thirteen and deeply influenced by Stevie Ray Vaughan, she founded her own band, releasing her first album in 2016. Thanks to reaching number two at Billboard charts and her participation in Ruf Records European Blues Caravan, her name started to be known internationally, and was praised by artists like Mike Zito or Kenny Wayne Shepherd

This last recording confirms this woman’s unleashed strength and undeniable guitar technique which has made her achieve a remarkable status in the blues rock field. Twelve powerful songs give shape to an album that shows Ally is a guitar player endowed with an unquestionable quality as well as a variety of guitar skills, as well as a convincing singer who puts fire and passion in her performance. Today she has become one of the most emblematic artists of Ruf Records catalogue.

Produced by drummer Tom Hambridge who also participates in the album, it includes two deluxe guests, like Christone “Kingfish” Ingram and Shemekia Copeland, each in one song.

A recording by a woman who steadily follows her path, looking for an ambitious future.
