Albert Collins was one of the most interesting original postwar Texas blues guitar players Born in 1932 he unfortunately died in November 1993 in Las Vegas, Nevada Frankie Lee Sims made him take his first steps on guitar when Albert was almost a child Soon he began to play at Dallas area, following with passion and veneration, in the path of his guitar idol Guitar Slim But soon he developed his own style based on short quick high notes placing the capo up the guitar neck and constantly employing minor musical scales Thanks to Alligator Records, Albert Collins reached the peak of his career during the seventies, with a series of bright albums like Ice Pickin’, Frosbite or Frozen Alive This Live At Montreux shows a very inspired Albert Collins on a cd where he gives us his huge personality and feeling Seven intense track performed with passion overflowing energy and a specially swingin’ electrifying sound
