I imagine some of you wonder who this man called Alaska Kalan is Well, Kalan is a New York musician now settled in Finland who plays National Resophonic Tricone with good taste and elegance Besides, he also has and intense emotional way of singing, placing a particular emphasis to tell us convincing stories On this solo album, he gives us his particular vision of this Helsinki poet daily life, with worlds like you know I hate to leave, shame I had to go but I can’t lie I’m a reindeer to my soul that clearly show his thoughts and love feelings If you like contemporary story tellers deeply rooted on old-time tradition and deep blues, you will find on Alaska Kalan a good example of this kind of music
