Many years have gone since Al Basile joined as trumpet player the band Roomful Of Blues Now his solo recordings still catch the attention and interest of blues fans and all his followers, because they keep the same musical stamp of that legendary band, that is to say, jump blues, Texas blues, swing and 50’s ryhthm and blues The album songs are musically inspired and display all the flavour of those great musicians like Buddy Johnson, Lowell Fulson, Jimmy McCracklin, Saunders King or Charlie Rich, but always dressed up with Basile’s excellent musical taste, together with very personal lyrics that can be read in the cd booklet Duke Robillard has produced the album as well as playing all guitars, Al Basile is on vocals, cornet and has done the whole arrangements Together with them Doug James is on tenor and baritone sax, Rich Lataille on tenor sax, Jeff Doc Chanonhouse on trumpet, Bruce Bears on piano, Brad Hallen on bass and Mark Teixeira on drums This excellent line-up rounds up a fantastic album, which will leave among most listeners a deep difficult to forget mark
