Most people know Al Basile as a good musician, but he also is an excellent poet and a remarkable story teller Now he connects these two facets in this last work, which has been produced by Duke Robillard, who also collaborates with his guitar in the album Inspired in the comments between songs by Louis Armstrong in his album My Musical Biography, here Al Basile tells us the story of an imaginary musician who, one day, finds some lyrics, puts music to them and gets famous, although he never admits he has not written those words With this story he tells us how blues songs have been created, thinking out loud who can claim about their authorship, because it is an inherited music that many people considers it as of their own To exemplify the story Al Basile includes twelve fantastic songs that illustrate the plot, all of them performed in blues format, backed by a group of excellent musicians like Mark Texeira on drums, Brad Hallen on bass, Bruce Bears on keyboards, Doug James on tenor and baritone sax, Jeff Doc Chanonhouse on trumpet and, of course, Duke Robillard on guitar and Al Basile on vocals and horn All songs perfectly match with the plot to round up a different very original recording, where music and poetry come together in a very exquisite way
