To celebrate the 25th anniversary of music in his own label, Sweetspot Records, singer, songwriter, cornetist and poet Al Basile releases his twentieth album for the label.

The album gathers seventeen songs which belong to some of his first recordings, when neither he was a renowned musician nor he had won all the Blues Music Awards he currently treasures. All the album songs have been remastered using the most advanced technology, so the sound is infinitely better that the original ones.

According to Basile himself, he had more than two hundred songs to choose from, and the ones he has selected are some of the ones he likes most or have a special meaning to him for personal reasons. In several of them you will find him working with Sista Monica Parker, Duke Robillard or The Blind Boys Of Alabama, presenting a varied tour by the musical styles he feels more comfortable with, like swing, gospel, rhythm and blues, blues or even psychedelic rock. Also mention some of the singers who have most influenced him, like Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, Nat “King” Cole, Muddy Waters, Ray Charles, Sam Cook, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson or Stevie Wonder. Besides, his cornet sound is unique and gives a very personal touch to the songs where this instrument is included.

The cast of musicians who back him is really wide and varied, so it is difficult to mention them all, so let me say you will find Monster Mike Welch, Mark Teixeira, Bruce Bears, Bruce Katz, Doug James, Rich Lataille, Jerry Portnoy or Sax Gordon Beadle among many others.
