With an extensive career behind him as a singer, songwriter and cornet player, that includes working with Duke Robillard or the Roomful Of Blues of the mid 70’s, as well writing songs for Ruth Brown, Johnny Rawls or The Knickerbocker All Stars, or including in his albums artists like Sista Monica, Sugar Ray or Jerry Portnoy, plus eight nominations for the Blues Music Awards, Al Basile releases this new album, where he has done the whole production process, from writing songs and arrangements, leading musicians rehearsals or the whole album design. If in his previous recording Basile was only backed by a trio, this time he has surrounded himself by a good number of musicians like Bruce Bears on keyboards, Brad Hallen on bass, Mark Teixeira on drums, Doug James on tenor sax, Jeff “Doc'” Chanonhouse on trumpet, Kid Andersen on guitar and, of course, Al Basile on vocals and cornet plus the voice of Shy Perry in a duet with Basile in the song “One Day At A Time”. Thirteen own compositions that show a variety of musical ranges and the quality of a musician who is an expertise magician playing jazz, blues, rhythm and blues, swing or soul to pull out a superb final result.
