Here comes the last recording by Canadian powerhouse singer Crystal Shawanda, that confirms her standing as a formidable vocalist, that will surprise listeners for the amazing intensity of her performances.

Hailing from Northern Ontario, Canada, Crystal was introduced to the blues by her eldest brother, despite her parents were deep fans of country music. Driven by an innate music calling, she initially started a professional career in the country circuit, where she achieved an immediate acclaim, reaching number one on the Canadian Country Album Chart and number 16 on the Billboard Top Country Albums.

Although she was well established in the country scene with numerous radio hits to her credit, in 2014 Crystal decided to embrace the blues, a genre that, although she didn’t perform at that time, had always been present in her life and has been a deep influence on her. She released an album “The Whole World’s Got The Blues”, followed by other successful ones, including 2020’s “Church House Blues”, which was awarded at the prestigious Juno Awards as Blues Album of the Year.

Crystal says that blues provides her a sense of liberation, which allows her to unleash the full extent of her vocal skills, because when she sang country music she always had to restrain her voice a lot, something that does not happen to her when she sings blues, as she feels free to fully commit, showcasing the raw, passionate vocal mastery that has become her trademark.

Twelve songs that show the various tonalities and sub-genres she can develop with reliability, where Crystal displays her multifaceted talent as a soul-stirring vocalist, supported by a roster of totally professional musicians.
