Misty Blues is a band founded by singer Gina Coleman more than twenty years ago. In fact, Gina did her first steps in the music world in a folk rock group. Later on, she played the role of a gospel vocalist on a theatre play called “A Raising In The Sun”. The lead actor Ruben Santiago-Hudson often said to her that her voice was perfect to sing classic blues, something that was also mentioned by other actors like Mandy Patinkin and Gwyneth Paltrow. From that moment on, Gina realized she had to sing the blues, recruiting Jason Webster as guitar player and Bill Patriquin as bass player and trumpet. Misty Blues Band was born.

The group was first created to pay homage to 20’s, 30’s and 40’s great female blues singers, without forgetting some of the bluesmen who also forged this style. Over the years the group has evolved to a more modern conception, without neglecting its musical roots, so its style has now become a fusion of classic rock and folk with good doses of blues. They have also added new musicians like Set Fleisshmann on guitar and vocals, Rob Tatten on drums and trombone, Aaron Dean on sax and vocals and Diego Monge on bass, guitar, drums and pedal steel guitar. The recoding also features a good number of guests who give variety to a repertoire of eleven songs.

This is their fifteenth album they have released to celebrate their already long twenty-five years of career and shows their change to a much more eclectic group, with a style we could define as contemporary blues. Also, the song lyrics tell us the band history, their ups and downs and the journey they have done to become one of the groups which works most in New England area.
