Guitar player, singer and songwriter Roger “Hurricane” Wilson is a blues dedicated person. Beside his musical facet, Roger has worked as a music educator, radio dj, music journalist or manager, without forgetting he is also judge at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis and he has been inducted to the Oklahoma Hall of Fame for his work of more than twenty years at Dusk ‘Til Dawn Blues Festival and his collaboration in Blues in School programs. As you can easily imagine, blues is his life engine.

Roger has sent us a new album with nine songs that present a very personal way to approach the blues, especially because his lyrics include items that closely concern him, like spiritual development, different messages to his parents who have passed away or hope in the future, in songs full of a special energy and passion, developed with a powerful instrumentation where his guitar style stands out, he cleverly combines with slide guitar too.

All the experience he has gathered in his wide career, not only during the years he has taught guitar but also sharing stage with musicians like B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Hubert Sumlin, “Big Eyes” Smith or Charlie Musselwhite among many others, become evident in these nine songs, which serve to get to know the music of a man who really works hard to keep the spirit of the blues alive.
