Following with albums of great artists who want to contribute with their music to Christmas season, now it is the turn of singer and harmonica player Big Harp George, who presents an eleven song Christmas album.

The particularity of it is that Big Harp George has not devoted himself to record those well-known standards, but that all the songs included in the album are George’s own compositions, in a perfect mixture of blues with those tonalities and arrangements that make each one sound perfect to be listened to in these special days.

The idea of composing a series of Christmas songs came after recording “Where’ll I Be For Christmas?” with the late and always remembered Little Charlie Baty on guitar. Although George had never had on mind to release a Christmas album to be listened only one month a year, he gradually started to write other songs inspired by Christmas time, that he now publishes.

Big Harp George has surrounded himself with an impressive group of musicians who stand out for their undeniable quality. It would be difficult to mention them all, but we can highlight Kid Andersen on guitar, Chris Burns on keyboards, Michael Peloquin on sax, Mike Rinta on trombone, Tia Carroll on vocals in one track, Charlie Baty in the just mentioned song and, of course, a variety of horns in practically all songs.

An album conceived to delight listeners during Christmas holidays but, due to the originality and quality of every track, it can be savored and enjoyed all year long.
