Canadian singer Layla Zoe has always stood out for her indomitable voice which allows her to approach a repertoire where rock blues is the main ingredient.

She was fond of music from a very young age. She used to listen to his father’s blues record collection, who also taught her to sing, backing her on guitar. When she was only fourteen, she was leading her own band and, in 2005 she became well known in the live music circuit, recording her first albums, which were followed by various national and international tours. In one of her German tours, she met multi-instrumentalist and producer Henrik Freischlader who invited her to join his record label Cable Records. Later on, she was member of Blues Caravan signing for Ruf Records. Now Zoe lives in Europe where she has gained a good recognition.

This recording has been produced by Henrik Freischlader and includes twelve Freischlader’s own compositions with lyrics by Layla Zoe, which become a hymn to freedom in all aspects of life. With them Zoe expresses the way she feels to be free, not only in pain moments but also when she communicates hope and confidence in the future. In all songs rock, folk, ballads and American music merge with a good dose of creativity and good taste. Layla Zoe is on vocals, while Henrik Freischlader is on guitar, bass and drums and Moritz Fuhrhop plays organ.
