With this last album Blind Lemon Pledge, also known as James Byfield, comes back to the roots, to give to all listeners a totally acoustic recording, where his voice is only backed by the guitar he also plays In most of his previous works, he has always given an electric repertoire based on roots American music including touches of rock, blues, cajun, folk, country and he even experimented with Chinese music, electronic and computer music Blind Lemon Pledge started to compose his own songs when he was only eight years old and since then devoted himself to study the most diverse musical styles But his love and passion for American music made him to come back to more traditional styles where he feels really comfortable The album presents twelve songs coming from such varied artists like Muddy Waters, JJ Cale, Fenton Robinson, Tommy Johnson, Walter Davis, Lonnie Johnson or Robert Johnson and he even includes a couple of traditional songs, Pledge pays homage performing each song in a personal, sincere, honest and simple way, which makes them really easy to assimilate
