I never get tired to listen to Sugar Ray And The Bluetones and, of course, this new recording is on my record player day and night Produced by Duke Robillard, who also puts his guitar on four tracks, the album features Charlie Baty as the band guitar player, in one of his last appearances before his sad and sudden death The good understanding and chemistry between Charlie and Sugar Ray can be immediately felt and the connection among Anthony Geraci, Michael ‘Mudcat’ Ward and Neil Gouvin becomes evident along the extremely compact effective sound they develop in every song In fact, during the recording, there was such an unbelievable feeling and a warm groovy atmosphere that, according to Robillard’s words, the recording studio looked like it was on fire and even one of the track machines was on fire Fourteen songs, six of them coming from singer and harmonica player Sugar Ray Norcia, one from piano player Anthony Geraci, two from bass player Michael ‘Mudcat’ Ward, together with versions of songs coming from Sonny Boy Williamson, Walter Jacobs, Jerry McCain or Otis Spann among others, round out a magnificent superb album, of those that become memorable and will mark a milestone on all the fans who get a copy
