3D are three prestigious musicians who have decided to join forces, musical skills, technique and creativity on the common cause of developing an ambitious original project along the own nine songs included on the cd that have been built up on the basis of rock, jazz and experimental fusion music The trio are Jimmy Haslip, former member of Lowjackets, who plays bass and has also done all cd production work, Vinnie Calaiuta on drums and the innovative ‘design blues’ guitar played by Robben Ford An instrumental cd, conceived with a conceptual experimental aim, which gathers so different musical influences like Frank Zappa, Led Zeppelin, Larry Carlton, Miles Davis, Jimmy Hendrix, or King Crimson Personally speaking and thirty-four years later, this cd reminds me the one Peter Green recorded in 1970 entitled The End Of the Game In Chinese language ‘Jing Chi’ means vital strength and this inner energy is what can be found in Jimmy Haslip’s third piece of work The cd clearly shows the deep respect they have for the original kind of music they play, which becomes not a properly a blues record but it is worth listening
