All those bluessin’ jumpy, jazzy, honker and old forties sounds come back in these cds Both records are sponteneous and refreshing but, at the same time, hot and powerful, thanks to the burning Elliot Chaver’s tenor and alto saxo solos and his vocal qualities He is backed by a group of good musicians, with a special mention to James Smith on trumpet Both albums perfectly reflect Chavers’ style and musical conception Besides some standars like Chicken Shack, Pink Champagne, The Honeydripper or Rock This Mother, Chavers includes his own instrumental and sung compositions The charm of these three cds is the enourmous happiness that is given off from the first to the last minute I must say that Bad Mudda Strutta has a better recording and production than the one recorded live in Netherlands
