With his new album “While I Can,” veteran singer and guitar player Mike Guldin delivers a mature work of sonic craftsmanship, recorded at the legendary Rock House Studio in Nashville. Produced by Grammy winner Kevin McKendree, the record goes far away of commercial trends to embrace an honest Americana sound that seamlessly blends blues, soul, gospel and Southern rock. The album’s title stems from a poignant conversation with his father, who reminded him to chase one’s dreams while time allows it, a “now or never” philosophy that imbues all twelve tracks.

Musically, the album stands out for its warm, straightforward production, where Mike is backed by a world-class band called “The Hot Links,” featuring heavyweights like James Pennebaker and The McCrary Sisters. Standout tracks include the high-energy “Driving Rain,” the soulful Southern tribute “Goin’ Back To Memphis,” and the roots hymn “Roll Chattahoochee Roll.” Guldin shines not only on guitar but also as a genuine storyteller, forging a deep connection through topics of love, resilience and redemption, all delivered with a seasoned, road-worn voice.

This is a tailor-made recording specially devoted to those who value the nowadays called organic blues as well as musicianship with no artificial frills.
