From Madrid, Spain, comes the last recording of Woody Blues Trio, a rhythm & blues group whose purpose is to recreate fifties sound, by using classic instruments, tube amps and a vintage image, to pay homage to some of the electric blues pioneers.<\/p>\n
Basically, the trio seeks to entertain and amuse the audience. The repertoire includes songs that emphasize the most festive topics like weekend parties, bars, beers, whiskey and fun, with very humoristic lyrics and music with fast dancing rhythms, inspired by boogie and rhythm & blues, as rock & roll and soul forefathers, that can also be found in their music.<\/p>\n
This album gathers fifteen songs plus a bonus track, three of them sung in Spanish and the rest versions, developed in their own way with original arrangements, of songs coming from artists like Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Rufus Thomas, Lionel Hampton, Marvin Gaye or Muddy Waters among others.<\/p>\n
The band includes Alberto “Woody” Otero on guitar, harmonica and vocals, Francisco “Franky” Funcia on bass and Manolo “L\u00e1tigo” Gonz\u00e1lez on drums and vocals. Some guests have also been invited to play, like Osi Mart\u00ednez on harmonica in two songs, Carlos Garc\u00eda Otero on vocals in one song, Jos\u00e9 Manuel L\u00f3pez Blanco on trombone in one song and guitar in another one, and Rosie Bob on vocals in one song.<\/p>\n
A fresh, breezy album, recorded in an analogue way to get a direct sound instead of an ambitious production, but that immediately manages to attract listeners thanks to the band sincere honesty and spontaneity, always communicating good doses of joy and fun.
