\nChorz\u00f3w is located in the heart of the Silesian Metropolitan Area in the south of Poland close to Katowize and not very far from Krakow. Once an industrial town, home to now defunct two steel works, four coal mines and various other plants, Chorz\u00f3w has undergone a major transformation over the last 30 years and is nowadays best known for its cultural events.<\/p>\n

EBC 2023 BANDS PERFORMING ORDER<\/strong><\/p>\n

The performing order of bands at EBC 2023 was established by a raffle during our past physical Board meeting in Porto:<\/p>\n

Remember that the next EBC will take place in Chorzow, Poland, as in an open-air event in the beautiful garden area of Sztygarka during 1- 3 June 2023.<\/p>\n

Chorz\u00f3w is located in the heart of the Silesian Metropolitan Area in the south of Poland next to Katowice. Chorzow is also the home town of Poland\u2019s only blues magazine, \u201cTw\u00f3j Blues\u201d Quarterly.<\/p>\n

Chorz\u00f3w\u2019s other attractions include a blues museum, \u201cGruba Bluesa\u201d, and the \u201cPrezydent\u201d mining shaft and viewing platform, both part of the \u201cSztygarka\u201d complex, located in the post-industrial area of a now defunct coal mine. There\u2019s also a beautiful, extensive park, \u201cPark \u015al\u0105ski w Chorzowie\u201d encompassing a Zoo, \u201cLegendia\u201d amusement park, a planetarium, and other attractions.<\/p>\n

HOW TO ARRIVE TO THE EBC, CHORZ\u00d3W, POLAND, 1 \u2013 3 JUNE 2023<\/p>\n

Important: the Polish currency Zloty (PLN) is c. 0,21 \u20ac.<\/p>\n

Chorz\u00f3w is in the heart of the Silesian Metropolitan Area in the south of Poland next to the city of Katowice.<\/p>\n

Katowice-Pyrzowice Airport (KTW) is the closest airport<\/u>, about 25 km from Chorzow. The quickest connection to downtown Chorz\u00f3w is by taxi costing c. 25 \u20ac and taking c. 30 minutes. Suggested company: Eco Taxi (+48 666 227 266) gives a fixed airport rate upon placing an order by phone, NOT through the app. Price c. 100 PLN = 21 \u20ac.<\/p>\n

Travel between Katowice and Chorz\u00f3w is best by local taxi services (e.g., Eco Taxi mentioned above), international apps (Uber, Bolt, Free Taxi) or local public transport. For bus and tram routes, timetables, tickets, and maps:<\/p>\n

The airport with best international connections<\/u> is Krakow-Balice (KRK), about 75 km from Chorzow. You can take a bus from the airport to downtown Katowice. Once you arrive in Katowice use the guidelines listed above to travel to Chorz\u00f3w.<\/p>\n

If you decide to spend some time in Krak\u00f3w, you can take a train from \u201cKrak\u00f3w G\u0142\u00f3wny\u201d station to either \u201cKatowice Dworzec G\u0142\u00f3wny\u201d or \u201cChorz\u00f3w Miasto\u201d (https:\/\/www.pkp.pl\/en\/<\/a>).
