For more than thirty-five years Mike Stevens has devoted himself to study and develop his knowledge and technical skills of harmonica, he performs leaving aside the established canons and letting the notes naturally flow. His career has also gone in an unorthodox way as he has always liked better that in spontaneous inspiration prevails in his compositions over artificial resources.<\/p>\n
As a composer, musician, educator and author, Mike devotes his efforts to popularize and give publicity to all the facets and possibilities of the small instrument he plays, combining the technique he has got all over the years with tradition and innovation in equal parts.<\/p>\n
Besides playing harmonica, in this new album Mike Stevens also sings in four songs showing good qualities at a vocal level. The other musicians who have participated in the recording are Polly Harris and Cory James Mitchell as singers, Kevin Breit, Jeff Getty and Jesse Wells on guitars, Jeff Bird on bass and Art Hratchian on drums.<\/p>\n
