L<\/span>a Hora del Blues” has been weekly on air since 1981 in Radio PICA<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, a non commercial radio station of Barcelona. It is on air through Internet and other technological devices like cell phones, smartphones… The director and host is Vicente Z\u00famel<\/a><\/strong><\/span>.
\nThe basic aim is to explore, give knowledge and popularize blues music in all its aspects from the origins until now. To do so Vicente Z\u00famel has an archive of more than 125.000 blues songs from the first blues recordings till the more actual cds.
\nThe show’s performance is a pleasant easygoing way without forgetting a touch of knowledge and specialization that does not mind erudition. The show gives the possibility of listenning to the same blues and artists who are playing on any USA blues station.
\nLa Hora del Blues playlist is monthly submitted since middle eighties to Living Blues Magazine<\/a><\/strong><\/span> TOP 25 LIVING BLUES RADIO CHART among others.
\nLa Hora del Blues is member associated of The Blues Foundation<\/a><\/strong><\/span> in Memphis and also belongs to the board of the European Blues Union<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, a non-profit organisation which principal aim is to develop blues around Europe.<\/p>\n

I just wanted to let you know that while Kid Andersen mixed and mastered Broke Down in the Fast Lane, and played electric wurlitzer, it was Grub Mitchell’s Dog Yard Studio in Sacramento, CA, where we recorded all of it. Grub also played some piano highlight on one song and sang a harmony vocal. Kyle Rowland is the young harmonica player. Well, he’s 27 nowadays, but has been playing since childhood.

Hello Vicente, you’re a good man for the Blues, I spoke with Billy Branch the other day and he told me to say hello to you and your wife and to keep playing the harmonica, once a harmonica man always a harmonica man! Billy also said that when his new CD comes out in 2014 to e mail Blind Pig records and tell them who you are, that you have a radio program etc… and that you know Billy personally and you should have no problem. Last night Friday (Feb 3rd ) Billy Branch & The S.O.B.s did a fantastic performance at our college auditorium, it was a great show! He was in town all week doing his Blues in the Schools at our high school, the kids had so much fun during class and on stage.
