Although settled and based in New England, The Mighty Soul Drivers accurately develop the most classic Memphis’ Muscle Shoals soul sound and, in general, all southern music.

Drummer, singer and, for more than twenty-five years, soul, blues, r&b and gospel DJ at WWUH and WAPJ radio stations, formed the band together with veteran singer, guitar player and songwriter Bob Orsi. From then on, the group has not stopped to play and tour all over USA, performing in countless festivals, always catching different audiences with the full energy, strength and joy that Memphis music communicates.

To celebrate their ten years anniversary, the band has just released a new recording. Of the eleven selected songs, seven are own compositions and the rest impressive versions of well-known songs coming from soul and rhythm and blues songbook like “I Can’t Get Next To You” (The Temptations), “Party By The Tower” (James Cotton), “Cry To Me” (Betty Harris), “I Wouldn’t Treat A Dog” (Bobby “Blue” Bland) and “Tell Daddy” (Etta James)

The Mighty Sould Drivers include prestigious musicians like Bob Orsi on vocals, River City Slim on drums, Larry Willey guitar, Steve Donovan keyboards, John Smayda saxos, Neil Tint trumpet and Tony Delisio bass. You will also find some guest musicians. Together they present a really interesting, compact, powerful, warm and totally satisfying recording. An album that will please a good number of black music fans, although, curiously, they are all white musicians.
