Blues with high well-defined doses of groove and a remarkable very actual and bright sound to satisfy 21st century audiences, is what New York based band The Hitman Blues Band bring us in this last recording.

Along the eleven songs included in the cd, the band manages to immediately catch listeners, not only by their undeniable quality but also by their overwhelming exciting rhythm, deep feeling, powerful energy and the wish to have fun they always communicate and manage to bring to listeners since the first notes of the opening cd song “Not My Circus” .

Led by Russell “Hitman” Alexander on guitar, vocals and composition, the rest of the group includes Kevin Bents on keyboards, Mike Porter on bass, Guy LaFountaine on drums, Mikey Vitale on alto sax, John Kelly on tenor sax, Eric Altarac on trumpet and Nick Clifford on baritone sax. Pay attention to the personal version of the classics “John The Revelator”, Blind Willie Johnson’s “Nobody’s Fault But Mine” and Bob Dylan’s “Times They Are A-Changin'”, without forgetting other excellent own compositions like “No Place Like Home”, “You Can’t Say No”, “Everybody But Me” or “Go Down Fighting”.

Surely this is an album to keep on mind.
