Despite she started her musical career in 2011 aged of forty-two as a soul and blues singer in the band Triple Shot, Gayle Harrod gathers all the ingredients to become a great diva. A deep and attractive voice with influences coming from Bessie Smith, Ma Rainey, Memphis Minnie or Sister Rosetta Tharpe, all passed through the fine sieve of her own and most actual style. She also has a powerful stage presence which has busted her to a rising career.

After singing in bands like Blues Deluxe or Shakedown, she currently leads her own band. Together with them she now presents her debut album with twelve own compositions that follow the path of blues, soul or gospel with some drops of rock and pop. Gayle communicates all her expressiveness, emotional feeling and passion thanks to a wild, deep and sometimes raw voice, which always gets an unbelievable communication with the people who goes to her live shows.

For this album Gayle has worked hard with her guitar player Stan Turk and her drummer Chuck Ferrell. The album has been recorded at 38 North Studios by producer Buddy Speir and sound engineer Sean Russell, as well as a bunch of guests like guitar players Jonathan Sloane, Sol Roots and Bobby Thompson, bass player Christopher Brown and Brian Simms on piano and organ. Finally, Buddy Speir also contributes by playing guitar, slide, organ and Wurlitzer, together with a female voices choir, plus The Voices Of Faith Of The First Baptist Church Of Baltimore Choir and an excellent horn section which bring punch and power to the repertoire.
