A three-time Blues Music Award nominee, Alexis P. Suter is an impressive blues and soul-blues singer. Born in Brooklyn, New York, into a musical family, Alexis soon was totally convinced that music should be an emotional and spiritual experience that must be performed with the greatest passion and conviction to in this way, communicate love and energy in equal parts.
Thanks to a powerful voice that seems to come from the depths of her gut, Alexis knows how to reach the listener’s heart, infusing her songs with the most intense and moving pain and the most explosive energy.
She currently leads the Alexis P. Suter Band, and they have already released six albums. This last recording gathers fourteen songs that combine styles like blues, soul or rock. These songs come from the pandemic days when the band met online to give shape to the compositions, on a brainstorm of ideas, in order they did not lose their creativity during those terrible moments. Finally, all the participating musicians met again, and the project became something tangible, which gave off all the energy, musical fire and passion they could not express during the confinement period, combined with lyrics that talk about life, the attitude to face something that can’t be modified, our mind changes after the pandemic and what really matters in life, that is love.
Produced by Gregg Field (Count Basie, Frank Sinatra, George Benson, Ray Charles…) this album oozes a great dose of dynamism, which makes it become an impressive recording where all the musicians show their quality and shine at a very high level.
Alexis P. Sutter and Vicky Bell are on vocals, Jimmy Bennett is on guitar, Peter Bennett on bass and vocals, Daniel Weiss on keyboards and Ray Grappone on drums, with the special collaboration of Byron Isaacs on bass, Will Bryant on keyboards and Lee Falco on drums and percussion. GREAT.
