Ryan Lee Crosby is a singer and guitar player who develops fingerpicking guitar technique with a professional efficient style, as well as being an outstanding and interesting songwriter.

For this just released album he has chosen a repertoire with the most popular and traditional music of Mississippi North Hill County, spiced with details of rhythms coming from Mali and India. The result is a rich, original and curious album, full of nuances and special sonorities, displayed with a resolute and restrained introspection and elegance.

As an itinerant musician, Ryan has gradually grown as a performer, forging a more than interesting personality, besides learning blues with Jimmy “Duck” Holmes, one of the last great Bentonia, Mississippi bluesmen, he pays homage in this album.

The recording has been produced by Bruce Watson of Fat Possum Records and recorded at Delta-Sonic Sound Studios in Memphis, and includes nine tracks, seven original songs, plus a traditional one with Crosby’s lyrics, and a cover of a song coming from Reverend Robert Wilkins.

Ryan Lee Crosby is on vocals and six and twelve string guitars, George Sluppick on drums and Mark Edgar Stuart on bass.
