After fifty years of career and ten albums on his back, singer and guitar player Paul Filipowicz wondered what more could he offer to his fans, friends and followers. After thinking about it a lot, he decided that the best thing would be to do a new recording with what he most likes and best controls, which is nothing more than a repertoire based on the North Mississippi County Blues with reminiscences of Howlin’ Wolf where slide guitar takes a preeminent role along with hypnotic, crushing and repetitive drums but, at the same time, giving to old blues a more actual touch.

To do so, Paul has gathered some of the musicians which have backed him over the years who contribute to give variety and color to the eleven songs that round up this new album “PIER 43”.

Although at first glance the cd may seem dirty, rough and few elaborated, as one listens attentively to it, it will be carried away by these primitive rhythms to gradually discover the wrapping atmosphere Paul Filipowicz wants to communicate to all listeners.

The cd also includes two bonus tracks from a live recorded show from WIBA radio station on November 11^th. 1979, that become the counterpoint to the rest of the album songs, in a journey to the deep blues essence.
