Mike Nagoda is a Canadian blues and roots musician who was born with cerebral palsy. Besides he gradually was aware he also should openly manifest his transsexuality.

As a healing therapy Mike began to practice with guitar, but it was not until he met Toronto blues musician Brian Cober who, in 1971, had developed a double slide technique, that he decided to ask him if he could teach him this curious technique. Cober became his best friend and mentor until he passed away in 2016. Since then on Mike Nagoda works to keep alive Mr. Cober’s legacy in order his name and work is not forgotten, especially this year that we celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of his original invention.

In this new release Nagoda shows everything that makes him different, not only as a person but also as a musician, both in terms of personal relationships and in the way he has overcome his disability. His transgressor spirit becomes evident along the ten album songs and, especially, in their lyrics. Mike sings and plays double slide guitar and Hammond, backed by Peter Johnston on guitar, Anthony D’Allessandro on acoustic and electric piano, D’Arcy Cain on bass and Jeremy Ronson on drums.
