J.P. Reali is a guitar player, singer, and songwriter who now is settled in Newark, Delaware, although he comes from New York and has lived and performed in the Washington, D.C. area for nearly forty years, also receiving countless nominations for Washington Blues Awards. Besides to perform in the area, he also devotes himself to teaching guitar with the aim of making his students discover and learn to play blues. His philosophy is to present the blues in its more genuine way, emphasizing melody, song lyrics and the necessary feeling to perform with reliability.

After almost twenty years without being in touch, Reali has teamed up again with Jim Larson, he used to play back in the 80s in a psychedelic rock band called The Next Step. During the pandemic, Reali composed a series of songs that he now presents on this album together with Jim Larson. Eight songs where J.P. Reali is on vocals, harmonica and even dares to play bass, piano and banjo in the song “Eileen Left”, while Jim Larson performs drums, percussion, mandolin and takes care of production and mixing, with the collaboration of Josh Borden on keyboards, Gill Glass on bass and Chris Reali also on bass in “The Devil’s Take”.

Both musicians understand each other pretty well, presenting a repertoire with influences that range from John Lee Hooker to Bob Dylan, Grateful Dead, Albert King, Carlos Santana or Magic Sam, without forgetting the most genuine blues developed with honesty, credibility, respect and passion by these two good musicians and great friends too.
