Australian singer and guitar player Gwyn Ashton had not released an album since 2012. Now he comes back stronger than ever with his last one, a real rock blues CD he has recorded with his power trio. Gwyn’s musical influences can be found in musicians like Jimi Hendrix or David Lindley. He is passionate about guitars, and he owns an amazing collection of electric and acoustic guitars, lap slide resonators, twelve-string guitars or old pawn shop guitars.
Gwyn is well known in Europe as he has toured around United Kingdom, Serbia, Bosnia, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland, besides a very active musician in Australia. Also, in Europe he has been member of Rory Gallagher’s tribute band, Band Of Friends. He has shared stage with musicians like B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Ray Charles, Peter Green, Van Morrison, Hubert Sumlin, Mick Taylor, Status Quo, The Yardbirds, Slade, Robin Trower, Steve Hackett, Wishbone Ash, The Troggs, and has also been invited to play with Mick Fleetwood. Canned Heat, Walter Trout or Elliot Randall (Steely Dan).
Recorded in Adelaide, Australia, the album includes ten Gwyn’s own compositions, fulfilled with incendiary solos, powerful grooves and dazzling performances, that will impress rock blues lovers thanks to his guitar fiery greasy sound. His way of playing guitar together with his stage presence has made him become one of the most appreciated contemporary rock blues guitar players.
Gwyn Ashton is on vocals and guitar, Chris Lambden on bass and Paul Wheeler on drums. For the album they have also counted with the collaborations of Andrea Dawson on backing vocals and Jesse Deane-Freeman on organ in the song “Evil Child”.
A recording especially devoted to the most powerful and unleashed rock blues lovers.
