Three times winner of the Blues Music Awards and nominated for countless awards, Diunna Greenleaf not only sings but also develops a wide number of activities always related to blues music. She has been president of the Houston Blues Society, has also produced the Willie Mae Thornton Blues Festival and is active in Blues In Schools Program, bringing blues to a good number of students.

Born in Houston, Texas, Diunna gathers influences from Koko Taylor, Aretha Franklin, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Sam Cooke, Charles Brown and, of course, from her parents, two excellent gospel singers who, since her childhood, instilled music in Diunna’s heart and soul. She had not released an album for ten years, so this new recording will undoubtedly be very well received by all her followers and by specialized media too.

Produced by Noel Hayes with Jim Pugh and Kid Andersen, the album presents thirteen songs, four Diunna Greenleaf’s own compositions, all them full of energy and inspiration. The songs are filled with the best blues, soul, rhythm and blues and gospel, which perfectly match and enhance the magnificent and powerful vocal qualities Diunna Greenleaf displays in every cut, perfectly supported by Kid Andersen on guitar, Jim Pugh on piano and organ, Jerry Jemmott on bass and Derrick “D’mar” Martin on drums, plus a superb horn section as well as a bunch of excellent outstanding guest musicians like Sax Gordon, Igor Prado or Alabama Mike to mention a few.
